NB-K430 is used for remote reading of the status of water meters of the iPERL type series from Sensus, equipped with a radio transmitter of read data in the 430MHz band, and forwarding of read data to a remote reading system (Automatic Meter Reading – AMR) via NB-IoT services of GSM mobile service operator.
The NB-K430 module serves as a local communication gateway (“Gateway”) for remote reading of inductive water meters of the iPERL type series from Sensus. The module receives regular BUP (“Bubble Up”) radio messages from iPERL water meters within radio range and stores their contents in memory. At set time intervals, it transmits the summary of received data to the superior remote reading system (AMR) in the form of radio messages of the NB-IoT service of the mobile operator.
The NB-K430 module can be used to read up to 20 iPERL water meters located in the radio range of the device (tens to hundreds of meters). Each water meter sends BUP messages with a fixed period of 15 seconds. The module receives data from water meters in receiving “windows”, which it opens with a set measuring period (for example, every 60 minutes). The module receives the data received in each receiving window in its memory. With the set transmission period (for example 12 hours) the module sends a summary message with all stored data via the NB-IoT network to the superior server. This method of communication is optimal both in terms of minimizing electricity consumption (the module is powered by a built-in battery) and in terms of minimizing the cost of NB-IoT services.
Alternatively, the module can work in “on-line” mode, where it sends data to the parent server immediately after each received window.
The NB-K430 module is enclosed in a moisture-resistant plastic box (IP65 protection) and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The box is adapted for mounting on a wall or on any structural element (beam, pipe …). The module can be equipped with additional protection against moisture (up to IP68) by encapsulation with silicone filling with high adhesion. If this adjustment is required from the manufacturer, it must be ordered with a special order code.
The modules are supplied either in IP65 design (resistant to short-term splashing water) or with an additional seal with silicone filling with high adhesion, which guarantees resistance to water flooding (degree of protection IP68). Modules already fitted with a silicone seal at the factory have an IP68 degree of protection on the nameplate (for example: “NB-K430 / B13 / IP68”). The price of this module is on request.
