Radio data collection solution using the M-BUS application layer, an extended international standard based on the commonly used M-BUS standard. In industrial practice, it is used for radio technologies in the 868 Mhz and 169 Mhz range. The system is characterized by a simple network layer – a simple “star” topology, without traffic control (collisions) with an application layer adapted for reading consumption meters.
The basis of the concept is one-way data transfer (from the meter to the collection system) with the possibility of limited support for two-way communication, which allows extension to other applications (additional extension of the standard)
The big advantage is the mutual compatibility of different devices from different manufacturers (if the standard is consistently implemented).
