Remote meter readings do not only save consumption of consumers but also allow suppliers to detect leakages or unannounced consumptions at locations that are normally checked only once a year. Water meters are equipped with radio modules that perform the water meter readings and transmit the read data online unchanged over the Internet directly to the server, where they can be used by both consumers and suppliers.
The online system enables customers to easily control their water consumption. Through the Internet access (www.merenispotreby.pvk.cz), the customer is continually provided with information on historical and current water consumption. Water consumption is presented in both flow and volume units as well as in costs in CZK.
